Krčínka sewer
A forgotten technical monument – the artificial sewer named Krčínka is an outstanding example of metrical work. It is part of former Rožmberk (also called Netolice) game preserve and measures about 8 km. It has been built at the end of 16th century by the Rožmberk regent Jakub Krčín z Jelčan. Krčínka has brought water from the Melhutka creek in Hrbov through Dolní Nadýmač and Čichtický ponds and has served as the water drive source of different modern moving attractions, devices, pictures and fountains in the castle garden. This sewer became the ground of disagreement between Jakub Krčín and the city of Netolice because it conducted away the water used for filling the largest city ponds Hrbovské, Podroužek and Mnich and also for driving water mills in the city. According to a legend the sewer is being plowed every night by a devil and Krčín yoked into the plow.
